Flip video recorder: Disruptor, but for how long?

Add video recorders to the list of industries being disrupted by “good enough” products that, with less features than the established players, become both easier to use and less expensive.
Have you seen the Flip Mino? It’s the size of a small cell phone with this little, tiny screen that can’t be bigger than 1 inch across (you can barely tell what it is recording), and is so light I forget when it’s in my pocket.

AlertFox releases in Public Beta with innovative sign-up incentive

I’m sure this model of getting user sign-ups has been done before, but today was the first time I fully appreciated it.
A German start-up iOpus released their new web application monitoring tool AlertFox to public beta. I was interested in this because our application is Ajax-heavy and other testing tools we have tried don’t seem to work.
But what I was most impressed with was their signup offer.
